Using omron PLC through OPC server

Hi,

Is it possible to access a PLC that is not listed on the OPC server configuration tool of LabVIEW? In my case, it's a CP2E Omron PLC that I would like to control/monitor via the Omron Ethernet Fins protocol.

I can access it with a generic SCADA software that recognizes the model and correctly reads the tags, but I'm not able to do so on LabVIEW since the model doesn't appear on the PLC list when configuring the new OPC server.

According to Documentation OMRON shall be supported:

Omron

Omron FINS Ethernet

• Devices Supporting FINS protocol via Sysmac Way: Host Link Interface

There are following theoretical possibilities — using OMRON's PLC Server (if available for given PLC) and connect LabVIEW as Client, or using Matricon OPC Server, or NI OPC Servers, or implement FINS Protocol "from the scratch".
