arduino uno + LVDT conditioning circuitry with hybrid oscillators and demodulators modules

Hello,

I would like to display measurement values on Labview 2011, receiving them from a LVDT continuously.

I do not have the conditioning electronics, just the standard LVDT gauge.

I was thinking about using Arduino Uno to generate the sine wave carrier etc. but it seems the wrong way, the whole circuit is too complex.

I found these modules, which I never used before, and they seem to include everything needed to get a suitable mV value out of the gauge (corresponding to gauge position):

Questions:

1. has anybody tested these modules on an Arduino UNO +Labview 2011?

2. which of following options seems OK?

a) trying these inexpensive modules on the Arduino + Labview 2011 (cheaper way)

b) find the appropriate NI equipment for LVDT signal conditioning + Labview 2011

c) use the electronics of the gauge manufacturer (expensive). An additional problem is that the LVDT signal does not come out continuously from these

units, but only after pressing a switch.

Thank you

George

Hi feanorou,

This is more of a signal conditioning question, so you might have better luck posting your question there:

I don't have experience with the modules you mentioned, but it looks like you have a good idea of the choices you have for this application. It basically comes down to how much you want to spend on your setup. Hopefully you can get more specific advice in the Signal Conditioning forums. Good luck!
