i am creating an .exe in project. In source file, the computer is greyed so i cannot select my source file.

The Computer is always greyed out but normally you can select the VI under the Computer. Check if it already appears on the right side under Startup VIs.

As has been said, the computer is obviously greyed, because it is not a valid item to be added to an exe.
All valid items that have not yet been added should show in the hierarchy below it in black.
