Can excelreport.fp functions be used to make a trendline in Excel scatter plots?

I'm using the excelreport.fp instrument file to open up a new Excel application, paste a table of values, and then graph them with a scatter plot. I would also like to add a trendline to the scatter plot. I can do everything fine with the excel report functions except for the trendline. Is there an easy way to add the trendline without going to deep into setting up Active X controllers and servers?

Just using the Excel Report library that gets loaded when you load excelreport.fp, you won't be able to do what you want unless you use the Microsoft Excel 9.0 Object Library library that also gets loaded with the excelreport.fp (though this is the ActiveX option which you said you'd rather not deal with)
