How to make NI-VISA tcpip work on a 64-bit environment?

Hi all,

I need to communicate with a tektronix oscilloscope via tcpip vxi-11 using visa. I need to use a 64-bit linux distribution but I wasn't successful to make NI-VISA work on ubuntu 12.04 so I'm considering other distributions.

Is there any recommended 64-bit distribution where ni-visa will work?

Is Scientific Linux 6.4 at 64-bit supported or does ni-visa still work only at 32bit?

many thanks

Francesco

just an update...

I installed Scientific Linux 6.4 64 bit, NI-VISA 5.4. After installing i686 libraries I could make it work with NIvisaic and I could connect with the instrument in matlab but only using the -glnx86 option that means 32-bit mode.

I'm wandering whether there is a way to use it in matlab -glnxa64 (64 bit)
