Input units with closed-loop stepper systems--steps or counts?

I have a system with several axes configured as closed-loop stepper/encoder pairs.  When using these axes, are the relevant input/output units always in steps, or are they sometimes in enconder counts?

 

I'm specifically wondering about the Configure Move Complete Criteria vi and the Position Deadband input parameter, but there are a couple other places where it's not clear either.  (Static Friction Deadzone is another one I remember.)

Hey Daklu,

 

The input and output units of the deadband are the same as the units you have specified for that axis. So, if your axis is configured for steps those are the units. Hope that helps!
