XY Graph for TS Report

Status: Completed

You should be able to accomplish this with the DataLayout attribute:

Because a customer asked me about it... And in looking around on the forums I'm surprised there's no opensource 3rd party solution yet to fill this gap Smiley Happy

TS has the ability via that little .ocx component to 'ploty' via the graphcontrol tool in an HTML or XML report.  But after many years, there is no 'plotxy'.   As this seems to be a common need for customers, maybe this could be rolled in with other changes? (if it isn't already?)

Of course if the whole point of not enhancing the existing graphcontrol, is to steer customers towards DIAdem or another 'correct' reporting strategy for bulk data, that makes sense too, but I figured I'd through the idea in the ring for general consideration 😉

The easist way to do this now (as  I recall) is to embed an image in the report.

Here's an example of doing this with a LabVIEW control.

I totally agree with Josh that's it's easy to do with an image, but then you've got all the format-specific code for how to embed the image into the report (i.e. editing the style sheet / html) that you have to maintain and also the task of storing the seperate image file robustly.  It'd be neat if NI could provide a modified ocx in future to support both 'ploty' and 'plot xy' or other multiplot capability to allow for 'all in one' report.
