Default vi of a custom step type

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi guys,

i create a custom step type, i.e. as copy of let's say numeric limit test (labview adapter). I add all of my variables, and i select a pre or post step vi to execute -> save etc. - so far so good.

Now when i select this custom step type and drop it in a sequence, i still have to explicit select a module (vi), which i want to execute? How i can predefine/set a default vi path (relative path in a default search directory) in the module tab? Is there a hidden ini or do i need to set a property?

My target is to hide the module tab and have the step ready as it is. My work-around currently is to insert the step in a sequence first, setup the module and afterwords drop it as a template in the template window.

I can hardly imagine that this is the best practise to this point.

I would highly appriciate if anyone could enlighten me.

Thanks much in advance and BR

Chris

Hello weigsvader,

my trick is to set the custom step to non adapter  and my code run as pre or post substep.
