Hi Teststand and labview gurus, Im just new with the teststand and Im using teststand 2014. I'm trying to learn the deployment tools . Newbie question: Do I need to convert the labview VI to runtime to be able to work?

Are you talking about the adapter?
Usually here's how it works:
You have a development machine and a deployment machine. On the dev machine you will set your adapter to be development environment. Then you deploy and either move your image or installer to the deployment machine. On the deployment machine you set the adapter to be run-time engine. You shouldn't need to touch the VIs in LabVIEW to get this behavior. This is all done through the adapter settings in TestStand.
The deployment re-links all of your VIs so that they can run with just the RTE. There is a special engine that is part of TestStand that knows how to run VIs using just the RTE.
Hope this helps,

Thanks a lot Jiggawax. Yes, its about the adapter setting. Points noted here and I will ask again if I encountered issue in the process of doing the deployment . Cheers
