PXIe-1083 powered by battery?

Is there a solution to run a NI system on a 12V battery? Possibly without an AC-inverter?

Unfortunately, only 1082 and 1086 have DC options.

It would be a great and easy-to-do development for NI.

Is there an solution to modify it "do-it-yourself"? What power needs the system internal?

It is definitely something feasible, just whether it has enough market to invest into productizing.
