Assessing the Remote Structural Health of the LIRR Railroad Viaduct

Challenge: Assessing the structural health of the LIRR Railroad Viaduct by creating ambient excitation, measuring the structure’s vibration modes, and comparing them against nominal levels and behaviors.
Solution: Taking continuous measurements to provide the modal analysis with vibration data generated from ambient excitation, then using a measurement system to capture and analyze important events.
