Positioning Actuators for the European Extremely Large Telescope Primary Mirror With LabVIEW and PXI Hardware

Author: Miguel Núñez, Yolanda Martín, Marcos Reyes, Teodora Viera - Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias

Challenge: Developing the electronics and embedded software used to manage and coordinate three nanometric position actuator prototypes for the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) primary mirror that can move 90 Kg with nanometric accuracy, while being conceptually representative of future electronics design for serial production.

Solution: Using NI LabVIEW software and PXI hardware to create a complete fusion plasma measurement system that we can update in the future as necessary.
