Session ID#: TS1684

Abstract: A successful GUI is intuitive and user friendly, and it makes users more efficient when interacting with the system. At this session, learn how to use third-party tools to design professional GUI elements as well as how to import these elements into the LabVIEW environment. Study real-world examples and discuss the methods used to create them. Also explore the techniques you need to create streamlined, intuitive, and elegant LabVIEW user interfaces.

I would love to see some more details on this presentation.  Will further information be added?

This presentation was largely demos, I believe. If it was recorded by Mark Balla, you can download the recording from here:

I'll also be working with Jon to write an article based on this presentation soon. If you haven't already, subscribe to NI News Global under e-newsletters here so you don't miss it!

Could you also post here when the article is complete? Looking forward to reading it.

The slides briefly mention Aero. Did Jon mention it in the presentation? Would someone mind giving a brief recap of issues with Aero?

I am working on getting my actual presentation up here so people can play with it.  It is 342 MB (dont know if there are size limitations on files I can post here).

Check back soon

I didnt go into Aero in any detail, is there anything in particular you are looking for?

My mistake.

I've been looking at too many slide sets. One of them had a page on "How Aero affects our UI", or so. I thought it was your slides, but it's not.

Hi Jon, your presentation was awesome. I was wondering if there are any updates on the files upload you mentioned. Would be great to play with the demo files.

For anyone who is interested, I am working Brittany to distill my NI Week presentation down into a series of articles that will be pubilshed in the NI News newsletter.  The first one was published early this week and can be found here: Creating an Elegant LabVIEW User Interface: Alpha Masks.

If you would like to pull down the NI Week Presentation code, you can find it here.  It is LV2013, I cant promise it will work if rolled back to 2012, I can promise it wont work if rolled back prior to 2011.
