Active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology will enable next-generation radars to achieve better jamming resistance capability and low probability of intercept. These radars consist of several transmit/receive modules (TRMs) that are electronically scanned in a tight, time-synchronized manner, thereby requiring digital control to move closer to the radio front end on the antennas. To meet these challenges, radar engineers need a platform-based test system that delivers capabilities such as multichannel phase-aligned measurements over wide bandwidths and high-throughput streaming. At this session, explore the trends in radar systems and analyze their impact on test system architectures.
