Recorded Webcast Available - IEEE Spectrum: Real-Time HIL Simulation of Grid-Tied Switched-Mode Power Systems

Real-Time HIL Simulation of Grid-Tied Switched-Mode Power Systems

DESCRIPTION: Great progress has been made in recent years to develop appropriate mathematical constructs, solvers and frameworks that address the unique challenges of high fidelity, high speed real-time simulation of grid-tied switched-mode power converters and power grids using hybrid-FPGA devices.

Join us to learn about the frontiers of real-time power simulation, including:

  • Motivation for developing FPGA-based simulation technology
  • Demonstration of FPGA-based simulation and control
  • Demonstration of a 30-km, three conductor transmission line simulation
  • Development of a new megawatt size digital dynamometer inverters
  • Demonstration of a battery Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation systems
