Can i monitor engine performnce in real time using Labview?

Communicating with ECU without manufactuer-provided-tool is almost next to impossible.  Even with the tool, you still need to know the version of the software in ECU to correctly read/write.  Generally manufacturers want to make it as hard as possible, so nobody without proper access rights will be able to manipulate the information in the ECU. There are obviously business reasons for that.

It its not two years.  Why not hook up leads to whatever sensors you need?  You should be able to look up data for those sensors or after market versions of them.  If you know what wired they are coming into the ECM you should be able hook most of them up there without going to far.  It would probable be more customizable and accurate that way as well.
