Boeing's 787 passed the wing load test over the weekend. In this test, the engineers load the wings with up 150% of the expected heaviest loads the plane will ever see, The wings bend upward, to a scary degree. By passing this test Boeing makes sure you won't see the wings break during the worst conditions in flight.

In 1995, Boeing went a step further and kept bending beyond the 150% level to see just when the wings would break. This video shows that test:
