Dear reader,

welcome to my blog!

In my research I came across different obstacles that were hurdled only due to great people that write such blogs and participate in forums. I am by no means an experienced programer, but nevertheless I hope someone finds this useful or inspiring in their project work.

First post will be dedicated to connecting a Microsoft XBOX Kinect sensor in order to aquire the 3D shape of the measured object using the PCL (Point Cloud) library. The best part of this is that the acquired point cloud is already calibrated and also aligned with the texture image. I found this useful for object tracking and simultaneous 3D shape analysis.

The second post will be dedicated to connecting a low-cost IR array sensor (MLX90620) to Arduino MCU via the I2C communication protocol and sending the acquired raw data bytes to the serial port. This is then read in Labview where the actual temperature calculation and display is performed.
