So you are one of the not-so-many lucky one's having a LV 2022 Q3 version on a perpetual basis. I guess most got their perpetual LV versions stopped before LV 2022 Q3.

LV 2022 Q3 supports the LabVIEW AddOn concept. So you can install all the upcoming drivers. No need to upgrade LV. That is splendid.

So keep programming ..

2022 Q3 is also the first version to officially support Windows 11. Hopefully that means I can stick with it as long as possible, waiting for Windows 11 to no longer have support before we will have to evaluate what we do next.

Hi

Sorry, my YES hat shadowed for the reality. Some drivers and modules did not manage to get AddOn support in LV 2022 Q3, but only in a later LV version, including RIO related :

Driver and Toolkit Addon Support

See the table below for compatibility information. The driver version shown in the table is the first driver version to include Addon support for the indicated LabVIEW version. LabVIEW compatibility information can also be found in individual driver and toolkit readmes.

All drivers in the table below are expected to be available with Addon support. Support will be incrementally released through 2022 and 2023. An exception to this is RFmx, which is not currently listed in the table. Although we expect to release RFmx with Addon support eventually, the timeline is not yet defined.

* The FPGA components of NI-Digital Pattern Driver 2022 Q4 did not receive Addon support. This support was added in NI-Digital Pattern Driver 2023 Q1. Using NI-Digital Pattern Driver 2022 Q4, customers with LabVIEW 2023+ will not be able to compile bitfiles for NI-Digital instruments. Customers using NI-Digital Pattern Driver 2022 Q4 without LabVIEW FPGA Module 2023+ installed will not be able to deploy bitfiles in LabVIEW 2023+.

Windows 11 bombshell...

Just tried installing LV2019 on new windows 11 PC.. After installation got 'bitlocker' stuck at boot.

Could fix it by rolling back to restore point.

Checking LV compatibility. Turns out windows 11 is only supported 2022 onwards.

Just at the time subscription started..

Anyone experience with that?

I installed LabVIEW down to 2009 on Windows 11 Virtual machines with no major problems. Did you also install DAQmx or other hardware drivers? They should not cause major problems with Windows 11 itself but older versions might not always fare will with latest AMD or Intel Core CPUs and/or chipset. Windows 10 system drivers do not support some of the more recent chipset features so that they do not get enabled even on this new hardware under Windows 10, but Windows 11 may switch on features that older drivers were never able to encounter before they were released.

"Did you also install DAQmx or other hardware drivers?"

That probably was the problem. Used the package manager to install LV2019, including DAQmx and drivers. After that bitlocker locked my system. Could reset to earlier restore point.

Tried again but this time disabled DAQmx and drivers in first installation dialog. Installed fine after that. (I'll try installing DAQmx and serial driver seperate via package manager, just the newest version.

If don't come back to this topic (I expect it), that worked fine.

Thanks!

The latest version of DAQmx that will support LabVIEW 2019 is DAQmx 2022 Q4.
