This 3 hour hands on session is a taster given at universities. It introduces the concepts of using LabVIEW, a graphical programming language, to acquire and analyse data.
Software required: LabVIEW 2014
Hardware required: NI USB-6212 data acquisition device. Even if you don't have a 6212 device, you can attempt the hands-on exericses by using any other NI DAQ device, such as the myDAQ.
After going through this session you should be able to understand how to configure a data acquisition device in MAX and build LabVIEW programs to acquire and analyse data from it.
The attached lvzip file contains a LabVIEW Project. The project contains all the exercises and solution VIs, alongside the session manual.
The manual contains comprehensive instructions to complete the exercises as well as numerous tips and best practices to help you become a LabVIEW wizard.
To access the hands on project:
Download the lvzip below and the lvzip installer found here: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-32469. After installing the lvzip installer double-click on the lvzip and you should see it extracting. Now, open LabVIEW, click on the "Create Project" button and navigate to Hands-Ons>>Academic>>Introduction to Graphical Programming and NI Data Acquisition for Academia - 3 Hr .
