Hello,
I was hoping that someone could help with a plug-in for LS-Dyna (CAE solver) output files. I have attached an force (rcforc) and Node data (nodout) files. The format is strange to me and the wizard could not help....
Also, these files do not have an extension. I added the .txt so that I could attach them. Will the lack of a file extenstion make this more difficult?
Perhaps your engineers could work directly with LSTC (http://www.lstc.com/) to develop plugins for all of the output files...
Thanks for your time,
matt

Hi,
I will look into this and see if it is possible.

I recommend you send an email to DataPlugins@ni.com about getting a DataPlugin that outputs in the format you want it to.
Hope this helps.

Hi Matt,
At one of the 2012 DIAdem Basics courses in Dublin I wrote a DataPlugin for the "nodout" file format-- perhaps it was after the class you attended. Anyway, the files I got then had no file extension, so the DataPlugin attached is configured to work for no extension files. This can be changed, but I wondered if you had artificially added a file extension to that file you posted.

This works. Thanks Brad! Can I expect an RCFORC.uri coming soon?

Hi Matt,
As far as I could tell, that file contained just 3D node positions. What would you like to do with that data in DIAdem? It's not obvious to me why we'd want to load that information into DIAdem channels.

here is a description of the file:
each channel would be like this
Rt Knee Force Slave Fx
Rt Knee Force Master Fx
Rt Knee Force Slave Fy
Rt Knee Force Master Fy
etc...
This file would output 12 data channel and 1 time channel.
Thanks for looking at this.

Hi Matt
Perhaps Brad will provide further feedback, but, if you would like to create or modify a DataPlugin yourself, we have some helpful resources. I have provided links to some of these below, and I hope you find them helpful!
