Reverse Output Polarity

I am currently using an NI 6001 USB to supply voltage to a voltage-powered piston in order to extend and retract it. For lab set-up reasons, we are stuck using the Digital Output side of the device. I am able to get the piston to extend but in order to make it retract I have to take the wires out of the device and manually reverse the polarity. Is there a way I can have this polarity automatically reversed within the electronics, by say, a click of a button?

Please share more details of this "piston" and its specifications.

You need a H-Bridge circuit to reverse the polarity. An easy way is to get a brushed motor driver board and control the board with 6001's digital pins.
