FP-RTD-122 Resistance Configuration/Setup

Solved!
Go to solution
How do I configure an FP-RTD-122 in MAX 3.1 for reading a 44004 Thermistor Resistance(normally 2252ohms @ 25 ºC).
MAX automatically sets the range to -328 to 1562 ºF, and then sends 848 ºF output on a 60ºF measured temperature.

You need to set the "RTD Type" channel attribute for the correct linearization. The module supports 10 types of RTD linearization methods. There are 5 linearization values for PT100 RTDs and 5 for PT1000 RTDs. They are:
Pt100, a=0.00375
Pt100, a=0.00385
Pt100, a=0.003911
Pt100, a=0.003916
Pt100, a=0.003920
Pt100, a=0.003926
Pt1000, a=0.00375
Pt1000, a=0.00385
Pt1000, a=0.003911
Pt1000, a=0.003916
Pt1000, a=0.003920
Pt1000, a=0.003926

The Pt100 or Pt1000 indicates the nominal value of the RTD, and the alpha value is the Temperature Coefficient of Resistance. If none of these options are valid for your thermocouple type, then you should set the channel Range to 0 - 4000 Ohms and calculate the temperature yourself.
