I eventually established communication via modbus ethernet using an alternate IP address for the PLC, which was assigned by my laptop. The CPU utilizing its serial port won't assign it an IP address unfortunately. Now, I need to scan the logic controller and populate a library with all of the control points to read from and write to. How do I go about this? I'm trying to find the logic controller software and install it on my laptop.
That also sounds like something that the PLC manufacturer should be able to help you with. From our end, all that matters is that you're able to connect.
