NI Switch Close

Solved!

Does calling the NI Switch Close vi reset the relays/switches to a known state, or do they maintain their existing state?

The UUT that is connected to our PXI-2568 31 SPST card should not have some of these switches changed while powered up. If the switch cards can be closed without changing the state of the switches, I can avoid the extra wires required to check the power supply condition and not worry about sequencing when shutting down.

Hi NickDngc,

Thank you for posting to the forums.  I was able to run some tests, and a switch will stay in the stay in the open or closed position, until you either power down the chassis, or reset the device.  So when you are calling a NI-Switch Initialize VI, make sure to wire a false contant into the reset device terminal, because the default is true.  If you power down the chassis, or reset the device however, they will return to the initial state which is open.

I hope that helps.
