Rs-232 returns what was sent

Hello

I have quite a lot of experience with RS-232 but this has stumped me.

Commenting to a Hamilton Microlab 500 (motorized syringe).

9600 7bit 1 stop bit no parity

Try with Terminal (superior version of Hyperterminal) perfectly correct.

Try with NI MAX it returns what I send in the test mode. This is what I'm getting with the driver I'm writing. It seems like something in the NI software has set this port to loopback.

Anybody had this before?

Yours Sincerely

John

Problem solved...
It uses ODD Parity and the terminal.exe program interprets this differently if you say Non parity there it trims the reply to 7 bits and returns it without complaint. Odd parity and 7 bits works just fine. Still a few mysteries though, but I'll count this one as OK.
Sorry to bother anyone.
