VISA, GPIB read all device parameters values

Hello,

Is there a specific VISA or GPIB command to read the current status of a device? I am not referring to the status byte.

What I would like to see is the current value of all the parameters of the device, in order to be able to reproduce the same situation other times.

Is that possible with a standard command? Or is it related to a specific command of the devices?

This is something that is totally device dependent.
