Add a menu item or toolbar shortcut to delete a selection from the FP or BD -- Touchscreen Compatability

As the use of touchscreen devices that run full operating systems which support LabVIEW increases, one thing that LabVIEW curiously lacks right now is a replication of the the "Delete" key in either the menus or toolbar.  So if someone is working in purely touchscreen mode, it becomes rather obtrusive to simply delete a selection from the Front Panel or Block Diagram.

The only way to delete something would be to bring up an onscreen keyboard, or Edit > Cut.  While this is a workaround to this inconvenience, I don't think it's the best solution.

This seems as though it could be a rather quick thing to change, just adding a menu (perhaps under Edit), toolbar, or even an 'eraser' type feature in the Tools pallette item that maps to the same functionality as the delete key.

There used to be an "Edit -> Clear" menu item that did this.  Looking at 2013, I see an "Edit -> Remove from Project" menu item in that spot.  I think this will do what you want.

I actually think it's a bug that it says "Remove from Project".  I think we only intended that menu item to show when you are looking at a project's menu.  When you look at a VI's menu, it seems to behave like Delete.

Ah. Thanks! It looks like you're completely right.  That does exactly what I wanted it to. Good to know.  That label is entirely unilluminating as to what the actual function is.  I think the previous "Clear" label would be considerably less confusing..
