Anyone use netbook for LV before

Solved!
Go to solution

Just wander if the netbook is good enough to support LV.

I want to run some LV runtime programming for DAQ with USB 5133 etc.

May I know if any one has the experience before, thanks.

If your netbook uses a Starter Edition (not Home or Pro) of Windows then you will run into trouble.

There is a work-around for Windows 7 Starter Edition here but none for Vista Starter.

Thanks, If I just install runtime engine for LV and DAQ, will it be any issues with the Starter.

The run-time will not install onto Starter Edition Windows.  It is possible to apply the work-around (for an installer package) in the link for Windows 7 Starter.

I would not recommend you purchase PC with Starter Edition if you want to use LV.

So the runtime is not able to be installed on the starter or it need manually installed on the starter.

Windows 7 Starter = can be manually installed using work-around.

Vista Starter = RTE cannot be installed.
