Autosave file location?

Solved!
Go to solution

I have my autosave feature set to every 5mins.  I have recently had an error from LabVIEW stating that my file was not a resource file.  Unfortunately i had not committed this into subversion over the previous 24hrs so i have lost my work.

I am wondering if anybody knows where LabVIEW puts the autosave files locally in order for me to recover?  Reading a tip from another thread, i have already checked folder C:\Users\"user name"\Documents\LabVIEW Data\LVAutoSave\Archives and found only zip files dated from 2010.

This surely cant be where LabVIEW is saving as i have been working with this software daily in 2011?

Hi Grant,

Your memory locations for both default and temporary purposes can be found by selecting Tools>> Options >> Paths. The autosave option with hich you have set every 5 minutes is for recovery purposes only.

If you regularly save the VI then the autosave folder will appear empty.

I hope that this helps,
