Finding the index number to an element in an array

I have an 30 strings in an array.  I want to find the index number of a certain string.  So if the an inputted strings matches the string at index 12, I get a value of 12 on a numeric indicator.

Use Search 1D Array.

You might want to look into taking a training class or tutorial. http://www.ni.com/devzone/lvzone/fundamentals.htm has information on both.

Try search 1D array under the array tools.
