How-To: Setup your LV Icons so you can tell versions apart.

I made a 2011 icon based on blawson's 2010 icon because that's the one I'm already using. I'll probably make a 2012 icon when I have some more free time.

Resource Hacker works great for applying these.

Barrett, Asbo, Anyone.

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but has anyone already created a 2012 icon in the same style as Barrett's original?  I'd like to save myself the time if it's already been done.

Not yet, I won't be installing 2012 for a couple months, I think. Feel free to indulge. 🙂

Is the one in post 7 in this thread a different style?

Yes, the style is different and the one by Barrett/Asbo are a bit easier to see.  Looks like I'll have to learn how to edit icons 🙂

I have my taskbar set to black, the icons would not work well on a lighter coloured or transparent taskbar. David I would suggest checking out IcoFX for icon creation.

Seconded. I used IcoFX to make my LV2011 one and it's fantastic.

Well here it is.  I'm no master artist, but copy and paste is my friend.  I don't know what will happen in 2013!

I'd previously attached my LabVIEW 2010 Windows 7 Hi-Res icon (very pretty, big "10" in place of the "+").  Here are LabVIEW 2011 and 2012 versions.

Well now that 2013 is out, I brushed off my icon editor and re-made the 2013 icons in a similar style as the previous ones I posted.  Hope someone gets some use out of it.
