I have posted an entry in the forums asking the question but so far I got no reply.
The IP I'm trying to use is and FPGA IP rather than the Express VI provided by NI . I managed to achieve a working communication with this LabView project but due to the specification of my project (real time acquisition of multiplexed multiple-channel data) I think I will need this communication to run purely on the FPGA and then use FIFOs to stream data to the on-board CPU.
