Thank You NI

It's really nice to hear everyone enjoying it so much. I know, personally, I was impressed when I first got into it about how easy it was to do some fairly powerful things for test - and working with it everyday now at NI means you get to hear about the amazing projects and applications people are using it for in the real world.

It's great to see others have the same feelings...

Whenever I have some task to do I use LabVIEW for it Smiley Very Happy

Recently I did a histogram of some run times, some corrupt file restore, a "banner" window that can be switched to stay on top, ...

Is there anything that can't be done in LabVIEW? Smiley Wink

Only downside: if I send even a tiny application to somebody they need to download the ~100MB run-time engine.

Keep up the good work!

Daniel

Now we're talking! Let's improve something that is already great!

First, I like LabVIEW (very much). I learned myself assembly on my old C64
when I was about 12. Then, I forgot about programing untill I finished
collage. I did have some classes in C, but the projects where just not
interresting enough to really get into C. I did a lot of 8086 assembler
programming, but nothing too serious (since that is not really possible).
Then I start using LabVIEW, and saw it's potential immediately! Been using
it, let's say, 30 hours a week since.

I can't say it's saving me time, since it's all I do...

The biggest downside is that it's proprietary. Just imaging it as open
source project... Not that NI is doing a bad job, but when everybody could
join in, a lot more work could be done. I don't think this will change
anytime soon.

Happy wiring!

Wiebe.

I'd like to thank NI for getting me out of the office/lab once in a while to attend their Developer's Days and Technical Symposiums.

LabVIEW Pro Dev & Measurement Studio Pro (VS Pro) 2019 - Unfortunately now moving back to C#, .NET, Python due to forced change to subscription model by NI. 8^{

Thanks for all the comments, they mean a lot to the LabVIEW team here at NI!  I've passed this on to several LabVIEW developers and other folks that work with LabVIEW.  You've made our collective day!

The verdict is still out for me. LabVIEW makes some things easier and then makes other things that are much easier in a texted based language much harder.

Put those things in a dll, and get the best of both worlds.

Wiebe.
