Version in "About LabVIEW..." window doesn't change after installing 2016 f1 patch

After installing the "LabVIEW 2016 (32-bit) f1 Patch" (here), it doesn't seem like the version description in the "About LabVIEW..." window changes.

Is there really no way to determine if the patch has been installed?

Hello,

I just installed that patch and "About LabVIEW" does show the difference. All other ways to verify this also work: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/DEDEC3074C17323086256A29005BC543

I believe either something went wrong during the installation or the PC still need a reboot.

Regards!

Thanks for the reply.

I installed the patch through the NI Update Service, along with 2 other updates.  It obviously didn't install correctly, but it's not showing up as an available update in the Update Service anymore.  Any thoughts?

Also - there's an extra space at the end of your KB link, so it's not working as is.

 Hi,

The patch is also available here: http://www.ni.com/download/labview-development-system-2016/6358/en/. Try to reinstall it to see if that helps. If not I would do a "force reinstall" to LabVIEW 2016 directly from the Windows command prompt as this document explains:http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/ADD22E807D5A12AD862579EC00760F79.  Try to always install only one update at the time with a PC rebooting after each one also.

Regards.

I know I can manually download and install the patch, but I'm still concerned with why it's not showing up in the Update Service when it hasn't been installed successfully.  Is this a bug in the Update Service?  What prompts an update to be removed from the service - successful download or successful install?

I can confirm.  the LabVIEW 2016f1 patch does not show as installed on my machine here.  Searching through the update folder I have no 2016f1 installer. (yup I sort of know what I am doing)

The patch is not listed as available from the update service.

Y'all Autinites need to check on that.

And I can confirm that after installing the 32 bit patch from here http://www.ni.com/download/labview-development-system-2016/6358/en/

MAX Software shows LabVIEW 2016 f1 and the LabVIEW about shows Version 16.0f1

64 bit f1 is available herehttp://www.ni.com/download/labview-development-system-2016/6359/en/

Nice catch Jaegen!

Is it possible that the patch Update Service installed was the LabVIEW 2016 Installation Patch, and not the f1? The Installation Patch was a small installer change to update a registry key, and because it did not replace the LabVIEW.exe binary there would be no change to the About screen. Unfortunately, the only way to detect that this patch was installed is to verify that the registry key changed (HKLM\National Instruments\LabVIEW\16.0 should be set to "Release").
