Got it fixed, driver problem. Now it's something else...the program doesn't seem to do anything..it opens up at 233Hz, and then the graph immediatly flattens. I try to run the thing with a game playing on my computer, but the blare of the horns remain the same.

This seems great if your source for World Cup matches is external to your PC. But what if you watch the World Cup through an Internet stream? The Freeview signal in my area is rubbish and I don't yet have Freesat, so at the moment I watch the footy through ITV Player, but it doesn't seem like this or any of the other vuvuzela filtering methods will work for that. Does anyone have any suggestions? _

Hi,
though I can see the programs influence on the spectrum, I can't hear any effect. I think this is because of Window's volume control: I have to turn on the Line In channel (otherwise the vuvuzela filter doesn't get a signal). But then the Line In signal immediately passes directly through to Line Out. Additionally turning on the Wave Out channel causes terrible effects (echoes).
How can I handle this?

In the volume control playback settings, make sure the Line In is muted. Then turn up and select Line In in recording settings. That should do it. You want the audio coming in to be sent to the filter, not played directly to the output.

I had the same issue here where it didn't do anything but from the other poster's comment I was able to figure out that this filter was meant for line-input sound and not for direct wav sound filtering. I had to plug in device to my line-in (blue) in order to see any activity. But the connundrum is how do I get this filter to work as a direct sound filter while playing back a downloaded mkv rip of a game?
I've found a couple of suggestions for ffdshow audio filter but they don't seem to work as well as the National Instrument method.

Simon, is there a quick fix to use the running wave file on the computer instead of relying on the sound card device ?
nice application, btw.

To use this filter for online broadcasts you will need a second sound card but no extra cabling will be required. I have modified Simon's filter to output to a second sound card. You will need to open your first sound card's Sound and Audio settings and edit your sound recording devices. Only select "Video Volume" or "Stereo Mix", or "Wave Out", deselect everything else. If these options are not available, you'll have to google for the fix. I uploaded the modified file here:

I don't have a Mac version, sorry guys.
Simon, thanks and you hope you don't mind me standing on your shoulders.

I found an adaptive solution for VLC:

and tried it out... performance is impressive
