datasocket over LAN

Solved!
Go to solution

I want to use datasocket for network communication.....I have created two vis write and read......these works on local host ...but when I try to run on different pc on same network, it does not work....i mean no communication......

I have changed URL accordingly...

PC1---dsw.vi----: "dstp://i.p.address of pc1/wave"

PC2---dsr.vi-----: "dstp://i.p.address of pc1/wave"

Also changed setting of datasocket server manager like creator, listner etc changed to everyhost.....also I added a new item "wave" in server manager in both pcs...

What else I have to do?

In firewall exception list ...National Instrument Datasocket Server is checked and also Labview development is checked......so it is allowed to communicate....

Make sure you have the DSTP server running on both the PCs. While running, it will show up in the icons list of your task bar, i.e. the bottom right of your screen.
