jpeg decode

Solved!

Hi,

I'm working on a project that involves acquiring MJPEG streams from a network camera and displaying the images.

The problem is converting the jpeg stream to picture control on the fly. What is the best sollution for that?

thanks,

 john

Hi wires,

I hope you are well and thank you for using the National Instruments forums!

I was wondering if you had access to IMAQ functions within LabVIEW. These are part of the Vision Development module.

Is there a reason why you specifically would like to use Picture controls?

Are you using an NI camera or what method is this data being streamed back over the network? Is this raw network data or?

Hello,

Thanks for the replies, I use a CS-235 network camera, that sends JPEG streams over http. I used IMAQ but I cannot find a way to display the JPEG in IMAQ control without saving it first in a file. Also there is a problem with run-time licensing of vision functions (costs). Using the picture control might be usefull for remote panels, as there is not necessary to have imaq run-time on the client.

thanks

Hi,

you can find something on https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-13513

that project is discontinued, I'm a little bit outside labview now and I'm not working there anymore.
