I am using a GPIB-USB-HS usb to GPIB adapter for lab automation and need to install the device drivers on a number of lab PC's. All I need are the windows drivers and possibly the managed dlls, although I would prefer to deploy the DLLs along with my applications. All of my automation software runs on the CLR and not labview.
My question:
How can I get only the windows drivers for this device? The only download I can find on NI.com ( http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2129/lang/en ) installs nearly 400MB of software that shouldn't really go on my lab PCs. Furthermore, the sheer size of the package makes deployment and maintenance somewhat unmanageable for me.

Hi Peter,
Unfortunately, there is currently no "run time" version of the GPIB driver, so the link you provided is the correct driver that will need to be installed on each computer that will be running your GPIB software. Without installing this driver, the USB-GPIB-HS will not be recognized by the client computers.

Do you sell a GPIB adapter that does not have this limitation?

Hi Peter,
We do not. All of our GPIB adapters rely on our GPIB driver.

NI expects you to download a 622MB file and install loads of bloatware.
