9188 chassis can't self-test

Hi, guys,

I am having a problem on my 9188 chassis. The chassis is connect to a laptop computer using Ethernet cable. An IP address is assigned to the chassis, and the IP address is static. The chassis shows up in both the NI MAX and the NI browser with the correct network settings. But I can not self-test the chassis, the function is grayed out. I can self-test another chassis connected to the same computer. What should I do?

Hi Cong-

You have to Add (and Reserve, though this is likely to be done implicitly) the chassis before you can execute other operations on it.  Try the Add button in MAX or the DAQmx Add Network Device function in the DAQmx API and hopefully you will see better results.
