DAQmx for DAQcard6042E fails self test. Legacy DAQ is OK.

The computer I'm working on was supplied by my customer with LabVIEW 7.1 and the 6024E installed.  They had evidently written a program  or two with this setup, using legacy DAQ VIs.  I (of course) would like to use DAQmx instead, but I'm having no luck.  MAX self test fails for the board's listing under DAQmx (Error -88705), but it's OK under traditional DAQ. 

Versions: LabVIEW 7.1

                (run time 7.0, 7.1, 8.0, 8.2 )

                MAX 4.1.0.3001

                NI-DAQmx 8.3.0f0

                Trad NI-DAQ 7.2.of1

Any ideas?  Thanks if you can help!

Hi Spencer60!

This error message is usually returned when the NI Device Loader Windows Service (or 'nidevldu') is not running.  Take a look at the following KB, and let me know if you have further issues.

Thank you Rod!  That seems to have done the trick.  The DAQCard is working in MAX now, I will continue my LV programming tonight.
