PCI-6132 Analog input not working

First the computer that is not working:

 

logisys Fanless PC:

mother board  - Intel 945GME Chipset

RAM -  2 Gb

Operating system - Window XP service pack 3

processor - Intel Mobile Core Duo Processor - T2500, 2 Ghz

two PCI slots

 

Working Computer: Dell latitude E4300

motherboard - Mobile Intel®  GS45 Express Chipsets

RAM - 3.5 Gb- Window XP service pack 3

processor - Intel Core2 Duo - P9400, 2.4 Ghz

one PCI slot through a magma PCI bridge

Do you have a product number for which fanless one it is. That way we can look at the specs and make sure it should work.

This may be a shot in the dark-

 

Does the fanless PC have an earth ground connection to the chassis? If not, can you try connecting one?

Hey Analog Kid,

 

Sounds like your thought was the same as mine.  Unfortunately, grounding does not seem to be the issue here.  However, to answer you question - yes; it is grounded.

Hey Guys,

This is the consensus that I am getting from upstairs. "Comparing the two cards, I would guess the PC just isn't providing enough power on the right lines.

PCI-6254
+5 V ....................................... 0.03 A
+3.3 V .................................... 0.725 A
+12 V ..................................... 0.35 A

PCI-6132
+5 VDC (±5%) ......................... 3.0 A
+3.3 V .................................... 1.2 A
-12 VDC ................................. 70 mA

If the computer can't provide enough current on the line we are using to power the AI systems, it's likely that is causing the railing issues.  I'd be very surprised if a fanless PC could effectively run a PCI-6132 for an extended period of time. "

 

It seems that you might need to use the working PC, or try another PC to use the S series card with.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I've been thinking that for a few days that the easy solution is to get a different computer. This just confirms it.
