Compression turned on for cRIO-9068 on the ubifs??

Hello,

I can write 4+GB to the internal Flash of my cRIO-9068.  That is, of course, not really possible since the internal Flash isn't that big.  We have run the same test on multiple devices, and the data persists without error across reboots.

Is it possible that the version of the ubifs filesystem that is being used on the cRIO-9068 has compression enabled?  And if this is the case, where is this documented, and why was the decision made to have it turned on?

The default for ubifs is to use compression (LZO): http://www.linux-mtd.infradead.org/doc/ubifs.html#L_compression

The decision was made to use the defaults for the selected filesystems except when there would be an obvious issue with the selection (generally centered around caching and dataloss in the event of no clean unmounting)

Yes. See http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14613/en/ and it may be in the device manual also (less sure about that).
