Access Denied error connecting to RT target

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I'm running LV2009 on a desktop host and RT 9 on a PXI target.  I can connect to the target through Project Explorer with the original shipped target sw but can't access the I/O modules from MAX due to a driver version (DAQmx) inconsistancy between the host and target.  When I install the 9.3 DAQmx drivers on both systems I can connect and access the target I/O modules through MAX but can no longer connect to the target through the Project Explorer.  I gives me a Host IP address not on allowable access list error, even though I've added it to the Users Access list under target properties. Something in the DAQmx update is effecting my ability to connect through the Project Explorer.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Dave

Hi DDockery,

Our RT targets keep record of system information in a file called ni-rt.ini

We do not suggest editing our ni-rt.ini file if you are not fimilar with them.

The important lines in the ni-rt.ini are following lines:
server.tcp.access="+*"
RTTarget.IPAccess="+*"

"+*" means that every IP address has access

If you have more specific questions or are unconfortable editing the .ini file please contact NI's Technical Supportm, create a Service Request and an Applications Engineer can help you out.
