Software Questions
Either you do not have NI myRIO Software Suite installed or you need to change the environment. If when you click Tools » Choose Environment you do not see the option for LabVIEW for myRIO, you will need to install the myRIO Software Suite onto your computer.
10. I do not have LabVIEW FPGA, how can I access the posted bitfiles?
You can use the "Open FPGA Reference VI" from the FPGA Interface Palette to point to the bitfile, details here. This palette installs with the NI-RIO driver or in the NI myRIO Software Suite, the myRIO Module.
11. If I close out of the Getting Started Wizard, how can I get back to it?
Open up LabVIEW myRIO, click Set Up and Explore and the 1st option should be open the Getting Started Wizard.
Hardware Questions
Two NI myRIO's cannot be daisy-chained as the driver will not enumerate through the second NI myRIO and detect it.
5. What type of connectors are used on the myRIO Expansion Ports (MXP)?
The MXP connectors are 0.1" pitch dual-row 34-position (17 x 2) connectors.
6. What type of connector is used for NI myRIO power?
The NI myRIO power connector is a "coaxial" or "barrel" type power connector - 5.5mm OD x 2.1mm ID dimension.
7. Can I use a USB to Ethernet Adapter with myRIO?
Yes! We have tried this with several adapters and have had success. You will see an alternate IP address appear in MAX. This is the IP address you will use to communicate with myRIO over the adapter.

1. Assumptions made in the calculation:
2000mA is common for a AA battery (you would need the datasheet to be exact)
We assumed worst case power consumption for myRIO at 14 Watts (worst case components, temperature, fully exercising all user I/O at max rates/loads).
When myRIO will be available?
I have heard "October - November" for $499

Thanks!
Hopefully it will come soon after to Brazil!
Could you measure ADC-DAC responce time with external oscilloscope ?
ext signal (meander) -> (ADC-myRIO-DAC) -> ext scope chan1
ext signal (meander) -> ext scope chan2
What's the difference (ms/us)?
Is it a constant value?
p.s. maybe you know:
Is ADC/DAC connected to PS or PL part of Zynq IC in myRIO ?
thanks a lot!

hello;
i have been using traditional labview but i haven't ever used and i have no any know-how about labview real time and labview fpga.how can i get started?
thanxs.
Hello!
We're glad to hear you are getting started with LabVIEW Real-Time and FPGA.
I considering to buy a MyRIO kit for embedded system designing, are there anyone is doing in this field?
Thak for your care!
Hi namdv,
Thank you for posting! myRIO was designed specifically with students in mind and is a great tool for students to learn and implement embedded concepts in both C and LabVIEW. For our professional customers, we recommend the Single-BoardRIO for industrial embedded applications as a counterpart to myRIO.
Hope this helps!
Hi.
i want to generate PWM pulses, by comparing two signals. One is Sine and another is Triangle.
How can I get these PWM pulses output from MyRio.
Thanks in Advance.
regards,
Vinay.
Hi Vinay,
myRIO has 8 built-in PWM outputs in the default FPGA personality. You can use the PWM Express VI from the myRIO palette to define the frequency and duty cycle of the PWM signal. Or you can use any digital output available tfor your manually-generated signal.
This video on Youtube has more details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVN9jfwXleI
Hope this helps,
Laurent
Hello Vinay,
If this is the coursework-type problem where the output of the PWM is determined by when the two waveforms pass one another, using the built-in PWM facilities within the default personality is not what you need. You will need to write some LVFPGA code to do the comparison and detect when there is a crossing between the two signals.
Hi Mr. Laurent_Vaylet,
Thanks for your response. Yes, I have generated PWM using PWM blok from MyRio palette. But, I need a PWM pattern which comes from comparing two different signals. i.e. comparing a SINE & TRIANGLE wave.
Hello Mr. BradM,
Thanks for your response. Can you please elaborate, how to generate code for signal comparision?
Thanks.

revssss, welcome!
What are some of the specifics of the sensor(s) here? Your question is far too vague other than to note that you will likely need to use the ADCs.
Also, as Meg_Barrett mentioned, this seems to be more of an application question where you will get better support on the technical forums.
Is it possible to power the myRio from a modified sine wave inverter? I need to build an MPPT solar charger for my project and I becuaes I am not familiar with C++ and C++ based microcontrollers, the Rio is the only thing I can use at the moment. Since it needs a DC power and due to the nature of our project, it will need to be powered from the 12V 55AH Deep Cycle that we will be charging with it so it's self sustaining. I need an inverter to for that and pure sine wave inverters are very expensive
I already plugged the Rio in to this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882021190 in my car and had no problems, but I just wanted to see if this was okay. I plan on doing this for at most 100 hours. Also would this introduce too much EMI and noise for the Rio impacting data collection?

Hello,
I have a 1900 myRIO which came with LabVIEW MyRIO 2013 version.
The myRIO 2014 version for LabVIEW is available now, can I upgrade to the newer version using the same license number?
Hello,
Unless the serial number is tied to an active SSP acount, it is unique to the SW in the box.
Hello,
I have "NI myRIO-1900" and LabView 2014. I want to use these to make a BMS system that monitors and balances the rechargable Lithium-Ion battery packs via LTC6804-2 IC. I have some problems here to configure the IC for cell voltages for monitoring and balancing contol using NI myRIO-1900. Can you please help me by giving some references and techniques to write the programs in this concern.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
About LabVIEW that cames with myRIO. What are modules that came with it?
Is PID and Fuzzy Logic module included?
Does this LabVIEW included license expires in a few months?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Guilherme,
I posted a question here and maybe you can help me.
My post is:
"

Could you help me?

Hi Barsoti,
This ReadMe lists all the software in the myRIO bundle. If your myRIO came with software licensing (PNs 782691-01, 7826930-01, or 783072-01), it will include all the software listed in the ReadMe, and will not expire (you can find the Serial Number on your Software sleeve). If your myRIO did not come with software licensing, you should see if your University has software licenses you can use. For more information, I recommend calling your local NI office with your serial number handy
I hope that helps!
Dayna
Hi Dayna,
Thanks for your help. In this list of softwares is not shown PID and Fuzzy Logic module.
Probably it does not come with myRIO.
I will contact my local NI office to confirm it.
Regards,
Barsoti
