User interface design book?

Hey, does anyone know of a good, general-purpose book that describes how to design user interfaces?  I am looking for something that recommends button locations, color schemes, font sizes, that type of thing.  A basic manual of style for GUI design.

Thanks for your input!

Hi, i can recommand the general-purpose book "Designing Interfaces, 2nd edition from Jenifer Tidwell at O'Reilly Media". It includes also a lot of actual user interface examples to visualize the concepts. It helped me a lot in daily work.

I also like Microsoft's recommendations over on MSDN, not a book per-se but some good info regardless:

Hi David,

Thanks for the recomendation!  I really like O'reilly media, so it's great to hear that they wrote a book about interfaces.  I will look this up.

Cheers,
