Device error - how to recover from enum value not supported

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I'm running into a deadlock situation on a Virtual Bench VB8012, also tried with 18.0 installed to my laptop.

It shows the following error message on connection to the device:

Error message.PNG

I have no clue how to recover from this situation and get it into a working mode again.

Our other VB8012 works like it should.

Any help welcome.

The message "Actual value was Plus5mV" is a hint that the vertical setting for one of the scope channels doesn't match the full instrument configuration. For example, this can happen if probe attenuation changed and the device missed the event.

You can try a few things to reset the device.

  1. Delete the PC-side configuration file
    C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\National Instruments\NI-VirtualBench\*.vbconfig
  2. Reset the device to factory defaults
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371526G-01/TOC3.htm
  3. Do both 1 and 2

Your description gives me the impression that the problem follows a specific device, not the host PC, so I suspect Option 2 will solve your problem.

Reset to factory default solved the issue.
