Sample Compression Reduction Factor

Solved!
Go to solution
I am using the Sample Comrpession VI to reduce the number of samples that I plot on a chart. I would like to be able to vary the Reduction Factor (RF) during runtime. It looks like you can only change the RF in the VI dialog box. Is there any way to get around this?

Hello,

You can make the Reduction Factor an input of the Express VI by converting it to a subVI.  You will need to right click on the Sample Compression VI and select Show Front Panel.  This will convert the express VI into a standard subVI and you will not have access to the dialog box that you previously used.  You can change the "Size" in the block diagram to a control and link it on the connection diagram.  This will create another input into this VI.  I have provided a link that should show you how to change the connector pane.  It is in the LabVIEW help files.
