I am getting confused information about whether there is a DAQmx (not DAQmx Base) for Linxu right now (Feb 2014).
Some information indicates there is DAQmx for linux. An official FAQ for DAQmx for Linux was last updated on Aug 7, 2013: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3695/en
However, DAQmx for Linux has not been updated since March 2011 (v. 8.0.2): http://search.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/bot/no/ap/tech/lang/en/pg/2/sn/n19:Linux,ssnav:ndr/ while DAQmx for Windows has been updated to v. 9.8 (released in August 2013).
So, is there a DAQmx for Linux now (early 2014)?
Did NI dropped DAQmx for Linux after 2011?

Hello,
I have installed NI DAQmx 8.0.2 under Scientific Linux 6.3 32-bit without problems using of this manual https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-22110
I tried to use it with Labview 2013, but I got a lot of warning messages about VI dependences connected with dynamic libraries (so files). It looks that it works, but I still don't try it with real signals connected to PCI 6250 card.
It very awful to click a lot of times on warning messages, because I didn't find how to disable it.

mig-31,
What libraries are being complained about? What do the warning messages say?

Hello, Brad
There are two screenshoots:

Are you able to save the VIs that complain about this (e.g. DigitalPortWrite)? I would recommend +w-ing the problematic VIs, opening them, saving, and closing. It's annoying but it seems that the libraries have added "lib" to the front that causes LV to complain about the new path.

Thanks mig-31. But it seems that DAQmx for Linux has stalled at version 8 for 2 years, and does not support USB DAQ devices. In contrast, DAQmx for Windows is now ver. 9.8 and supports many USB devices.

DAQmx USB on Linux support is challenging issue. Look at https://decibel.ni.com/content/message/43451#43451

Thanks Irwan. So, NI hasn't dropped DAQmx for Linux? The development is going on?

No, I'm just referring to the USB part. There are some work going on over there, though.
I can't comment on DAQmx Linux support policies. I'll leave that to somebody from DAQmx to comment.

Hi Forrest-
We are still developing DAQmx for Linux support on an as-needed basis. For DAQmx 8.0.x for Linux, we are basically in maintenance mode and are happy to see that many users have been successful in using it with updated kernels and versions of NI-KAL that support them.
It is possible that we may add future device support, but right now DAQmx 8.0.2 and its supported device list is considered the currently supported release by NI. We will consider bug reports and feature requests as needed from the community.
Hopefully this helps- Tom
